Royal Wedding Will Be a Musical Feast for the Ears

The royal wedding is drawing near and there will be much to see and “awww” about, but there will also be as much to take in when it comes to the music that will be included in the royal wedding. The setting of the wedding at Westminster Abbey means that the couple will have access to the famous choir of the Westminster Abbey. It has been released that they will also have music performed by the London Chamber Orchestra, the Chapel Royal Choir and the Royal Air Force Band. This wedding is going to be a musical feast for the ears.

The palace made an official announcement that Prince William and Kate Middleton “have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their service.” There will be choral works, hymns, and musical pieces that were written solely for the wedding event.

For some history on those supplying music, it should be noted that the Westminster Abbey choir is world famous. It consists of 20 boys and 12 professional adult singers. It will be directed by James O’Donnell. Organist will be Robert Quinney. Read the rest of this entry »

Royal Wedding Suits

After the recent royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate there is going to be more and more couples trying to pull off a royal wedding of their own. The main problem area for the grooms of future weddings is what will they wear to make them look like a Prince.

Prince William surprised many people when he chose to wear the Irish Guards Mounted Officer’s uniform. His reason for wearing the scarlet red uniform was that he was awarded the rank of Colonel of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards by the Queen earlier in the year. In fact he could have worn the army uniform or the Royal Air Force uniform as he has served in all three armed services. His chosen outfit would usually be accompanied by a bearskin hat but William chose to wear a Forage Cap instead. It was the first time that the red of the Irish Guards had been worn at a Royal wedding since 1973.

William’s best man was his brother Prince Harry and he chose to wear the Blue and Royals Officer’s Uniform. Similarly to his brother he also wore a Forage cap and matching navy pants with a red stripe.
